Agriculture Fair & Market Returns to Paraquita Bay!

Agriculture Fair & Market Returns to Paraquita Bay!

First of all, we have to spotlight the individuals who turned out for the Agriculture fair hosted by the Department of Agriculture on the grounds of Paraquita Bay, Saturday, May 1st. Twenty-two tents decorated the flatland with dozens of farmers and fishers selling directly to the community. An awesome agricultural exhibition with a petting zoo, greased pig competition and even a fish soup contest! Happy to see this event return to the territory as a celebration of Farmers and Fishers week in the Virgin Islands.

Additionally, farmer Shallom received such strong endorsement from customers browsing the market, magnificent to witness. Our small team sold over 200 hundred pounds of BVI Black pineapple, grown in New Bush, Tortola. Invitations were extended to all who stopped by to come out and visit the farm grounds as the harvest will continue until June. Extremely thankful to everyone who spent time with us under the tent!

Definitely inspired to see this tiny Caribbean island working together to secure food for future generations. Support our garden community service program by donating directly via paypal and help us replant the Virgin Islands. See you in the bush!
